The comedian just landed a major gig.

According to DeadlineDaily Show correspondent Michelle Wolf will host this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 28, 2018.

“I’m delighted to announce ‘Nice Lady’ Michelle Wolf as our featured entertainer this year,” president of the White House Correspondents’ Association, Margaret Talev, said. “Our dinner honors the First Amendment and strong, independent journalism.”

Talev added, “[Wolf’s] embrace of these values and her truth-to-power style make her a great friend to the WHCA. Her Pennsylvania roots, stints on Wall Street and in science and self-made, feminist edge make her the right voice now.”

For her part, Wolf, who is gearing up to host a late-night show on Netflix, took to Twitter to confirm the news. In a quote-tweet of the announcement, the stand-up comedian simply wrote, “This is true news.”

In addition to her work on The Daily Show, Wolf recently premiered her hour-long HBO stand-up special, Michelle Wolf: Nice Lady.

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Wolf’s Comedy Central colleague, Hasan Minhaj, hosted the dinner in 2017 — when President Donald Trump was notably a no-show. At the time of this writing, it is unclear as to whether or not he plans to attend this year’s event. However, considering the fact that Wolf is best known for her biting sociopolitical satire on his administration, it does seem unlikely.
