Chicago police are under fire – for killing a legally licensed to carry Black man. Police are claiming that even though the man had EVERY LEGAL REASON to have a gun – they shot him anyway because they “felt uncomfortable.” MTO News learned the victim had a legal conceal carry permit.
So far the National Rifle Association has not spoken up to defend the victim.
Massive protests are amassing in Chicago as we speak, as people are demanding answers – and criminal prosecution of the officers. Last night dozens pf protesters turned out yelling, “The whole damn system is guilty as hell.”
Police shot and killed the man in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago. The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The city’s police patrol chief Fred Waller told reporters late on Saturday that the man who was killed was shot after police officers on foot tried to question him because “the bulge around his waistband” suggested he was armed.
After police learned the man was LEGALLY LICENSED TO CARRY, they continued to harass the man – claiming they felt “uncomfortable” with an armed Black man in their presence, even if it was his CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT.
Police then claim that after minutes of harassing the law abiding citizen he “reached for his gun” and they shot him. The victim – has NO ARREST HISTORY and is not a criminal . The fact that a law abiding citizen just REACHED FOR HIS GUN during questioning sounds RIDICULOUS.
“They thought he appeared to be reaching for a weapon, which he did have a weapon on him, and the officers tragically shot him,” Waller told reporters, adding that police recovered a semi-automatic weapon.
